Jackson County
Kentucky’s fifth district has a reputation for a strong, vibrant workforce, low energy costs, and a meaningful quality of life. For decades, Rogers has endeavored to open up Jackson County and the entire region to federal business and service opportunities, chiefly through coordination with the non-profit, Southeast Kentucky Economic Development Corporation. These efforts have resulted in successfully attracting forward-leaning companies in establishing and growing operations in southern and eastern Kentucky.
Protecting homes and businesses from the devastating effect of flooding has been a key focal point for Rogers. Toward that effort, he has been a supporter of the National Resource Conservation Service’s flood mitigation efforts which ensure businesses can continue to promote economic development and families can feel safe in their homes.
The fight against illegal drugs remains a priority for Rogers. That is why he has secured funding for drug eradication in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Keeping drugs off our streets is important to overcoming the epidemic of drug abuse in Jackson County and beyond.
