Johnson County

Bringing tourism to the region is another important way to boost economic development and create jobs. Prompted by the need, Rogers secured funding to help build the Country Music Museum in Paintsville giving tourists and community members alike a showcase for learning about the rich culture and music tradition of Appalachia.

Opening up southern and eastern Kentucky through expanding road infrastructure is key to economic development. Rogers has made transportation a priority and secured funding to make expansion of U.S. 23 a reality in Johnson County. This highway expansion has encouraged growth and opened up new economic opportunities for local communities.

Protecting natural resources and preserving natural treasures has always been a priority of Rogers. He successfully secured recreational funding for Paintsville Lake, enhancing the visitor experience and opening up this gorgeous and breathtaking landscape.
