WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Rep. Harold "Hal" Rogers (KY-05) voted for a stopgap federal funding bill to ensure military operations and other critical government programs continue as the end of the fiscal year approaches. With a divided Congress, more time is necessary to finalize funding priorities for fiscal year 2020, which begins October 1, 2019. The U.S. House of Representatives passed the bipartisan Short-Term Continuing Resolution (CR), H.R. 4378, to continue current funding levels through November 21st. 

"This bill continues critical funding for our U.S. Armed Forces, national security operations, public health resources, and extends pro-life protections," said Congressman Rogers, a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee. "Short-term funding bills are not ideal, but as we continue advocating for adequate resources in 2020 for programs that are vital to Kentucky and the rest of the country, Congress needs more time to get the job done right."

The CR promotes timely payments for government programs that support farmers, community health enters, small businesses, and other countless resources that Americans rely on. 

The bill now heads to the U.S. Senate for consideration.
