Rogers Receives the National Federation of Independent Business’ Guardian of Small Business Award
Sep 24 2010
U.S. Congressman Hal Rogers (KY-05) has received the National Federation of Independent Business’ (NFIB) Guardian of Small Business Award for his strong support of small business and pro-job growth legislation during the 111th Congress.
“I am deeply honored to be recognized by NFIB,” said Rogers. “Small business is the backbone of our economy and employs the majority of Americans. In these difficult economic times, with the threat of higher taxes and more burdensome government regulations, our small businesses are suffering and are often forgotten by bureaucrats in Washington. I applaud NFIB for being their voice on Capitol Hill and working hard to ensure that these hardworking men and women aren’t ignored. I will continue to make economic development and job creation a priority by standing up for our small businesses and promoting a pro-growth policy agenda.”
NFIB praised Rogers for his commitment to small businesses:
“In the 111th Congress, Representative Hal Rogers proved that he is a champion of small business. The Guardian of Small Business Award is a token of the deep appreciation that small business owners have for elected officials who promote and protect their right to own, operate and grow their businesses.”
NFIB is the leading small business association representing small and independent businesses. A nonprofit, nonpartisan organization founded in 1943, NFIB represents the consensus views of its members in Washington and all 50 state capitals. NFIB’s mission is to promote and protect the right of their members to own, operate and grow their businesses.
Rogers has served Kentucky’s 5th Congressional District since 1981. With a focus on economic development, job creation, fighting illegal drugs and preserving Appalachia’s natural treasures, he has a reputation for listening to his constituents and fighting for the region he represents.
