WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Rep. Harold "Hal" Rogers (KY-05) released the following statement after Iran attacked Israel on Tuesday with nearly 200 ballistic missiles. The Pentagon confirmed that the U.S. military coordinated closely with the Israeli Defense Forces to help defend Israel. Two US Navy destroyers deployed to the Middle East region supported the defense of Israel by firing approximately a dozen interceptors against the incoming Iranian missiles.

"I salute the United States Navy for intercepting Iranian missiles fired at Israel, protecting our allied nation from any further loss of life. This escalated attack by Iran magnifies the need for an escalated stance from the United States. Iran’s terrorist regime has grown even more defiant and emboldened under the weak Biden/Harris Administration. Iran must face severe consequences and full enforcement of U.S. sanctions to reaffirm that America will always stand with Israel and will not tolerate threats to our U.S. Troops in the region," said Congressman Rogers, Dean of the House.
