WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. House of Representatives passed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, as amended in H.Res. 1299, with support from Congressman Hal Rogers (KY-05). 
 
“In Eastern Kentucky, catastrophic flooding and tornadoes have magnified the need for more affordable housing options in Kentucky’s Appalachian region. We need to help more American families who are ready to buy a home,” said Congressman Rogers, Dean of the House. “This legislation not only works to drive down housing costs, but it also removes unnecessary regulations that slow down the construction process.” 
 
Part of the legislation includes the Modular Housing Production Act to expand access to affordable modular and factory-built homes. 
 
The legislation also modernizes HUD programs, strengthens community banking operations, bans large investors from buying single-family homes and blocks the development of a central bank digital currency.  
 
The amended legislation moves back to the Senate for consideration with support from President Trump.
