WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Rep. Harold "Hal" Rogers (KY-05), Dean of the House, voted in support of $9.4 billion in cuts to wasteful federal spending, recommended by President Donald Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

"This package is all about pulling back taxpayer dollars that have been spent on things like Net Zero Cities in Mexico, electric buses in Rwanda, sexual reproductive health in Venezuela, and featured stories on NPR about topics like 'queer animals.' Taxpayers shouldn't be funding those initiatives," said Congressman Rogers. "We are putting America first and restoring confidence in taxpayer-funding programs."

The rescissions package now moves on to the Senate, as they continue their work on the One Big Beautiful Bill, which includes $1.7 trillion in additional mandatory savings.
