WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Rep. Harold “Hal” Rogers (KY-05) voted in support of House Republicans’ Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act, H.R. 6703. House Republicans passed their health care plan on Wednesday to make insurance more affordable for everyone, including lower premiums and expanded coverage options.

“While Democrats vote to send billions more to insurance companies, our bill provides long-term relief by cutting costs for patients and giving them more options,” said Congressman Rogers, Dean of the House. “We’re lowering premiums in the Un-Affordable Care Act (ACA) by 11%, which is more than double the reduction of the Democrats’ plan. Instead of lining the pockets of big insurance companies, we are giving more money to patients through health savings accounts, better insurance plans and lower prescription costs.”

The Democrat-led plan to extend Obamacare tax subsidies for three more years will only lower costs for roughly 7% of Americans enrolled in the ACA.

Recently, a new investigation by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) revealed widespread fraud in the Obamacare tax subsidy system, including $94 million that paid for health care for deceased individuals.
